上田市常磐城にあるエスニック食材専門店「MAHADI HALAL FOOD」。
外国人さんが沢山訪れているお店で、主にイスラム教徒のための「ハラル食品」を扱ってます。

一般の日本人には余り馴染みのない食品ですが、中東、アジアの珍しい商品が目白押し。
たまにはこんな食材を使って、アジアンでエスニックな料理にチャレンジしてみるのも楽しいかもしれません。

ちなみに「ハラル」というのは、イスラム教の方々のための食品で、宗教的に食べる事を禁止されているものを含まない、神に認められた食品の事です。
反対に、「ハラム」という言葉があり、そちらが禁止されている食品の事。
例えば豚肉、アルコールなど。
肉などはイスラム教式にお祈りや血抜きなどの処理がされており、厳格な対応がされています。

上田市常磐城、上田新町郵便局の程近くにある「マハディーハラルフード」です。
It is “Mahdi Halal Food” which is close to Shimachi Post Office.
駐車場は道を挟んだ向いに数台分がありますよ～。
There are several parking lots in across the road.
店の入り口にはこのような「店内全ての商品は１００％ハラル食品」と書かれた幕が貼られていました。
At the entrance of the store, there was a curtain written like this “All products in the store are 100% halal food”.

思ったより随分と広いお店です。
かなりシンプルな内装ではあるものの、食品の数と種類はかなりの多さ。
It is a very wide shop than I expected.
Although it is rather simple interior, the number and type of food is quite large.
店のご主人は、以前ご紹介した上田市のインドカレー店「SAHADI」を営まれるご夫婦。
The owner of the shop is a couple who runs an Indian curry shop in Ueda City “SAHADI” previously introduced.
インドネシア人の奥様と、バングラディッシュ出身の旦那様が頑張るお店です。
奥様は日本語ペラペラ。日本人が買い物に行っても心配ありません、ご安心を。
It is a shop where Indonesian wife and husband from Bangladesh work hard.
The wife is fluent in Japanese. No worries if Japanese go shopping.
ハラル食品 Halal Food
缶詰の果物、野菜、シロップ、ジュース類、紅茶、シリアルなどはインドネシア産。
ゼリーの元なんかのおやつ系もあります。
ココナッツ味やマンゴ―フレーバーなどは日本人の口に合いそう。
Canned fruits, vegetables, syrup, juices, black tea, cereals etc are from Indonesia.
There is also a snack of jelly or something.
Coconut taste and mango – flavor etc seem to match Japanese mouth.
デーツなどのドライフルーツ、衛生用品、伝統的な漢方の風邪薬などもあり。
There are dry fruits such as dates, sanitary goods, traditional cold medicine, etc.
冷凍庫の中にはハラルのお肉が沢山！
鶏肉丸ごと、マトン、ビーフなど、どれもｋｇ単位で大量で安いです。
There are lots of Halal meat in the refrigerator!
Whole chicken meat, mutton, beef, etc. are massively cheap in kg unit.
鶏肉が１ｋｇ￥５００程。カットされたものは￥５５０。
chikin 1kg is \500, and cut chikin meat 1kg is \5５0
こちらはインドネシアの納豆「テンペ」、３個で¥１，０００。
カレー用のナンもまとめ買い出来ます。凍っているので、自然解凍、もしくはレンチンが良いでしょう。
This is Indonesian natto ‘Tempe’, 3 pieces for ¥ 1,000.
You can also buy Nan for curry in bulk. Because it is frozen, you should thaw it naturally, or thaw it with a microwave oven.
料理用のハーブも冷凍されてます。レモングラスやこぶみかんの葉、アジアの生姜など。
サモサのようなインド的おやつもあり。
Cooking herbs are also frozen. Lemongrass, leaves of oranges, ginger of Asia etc.
There are also Indian snacks like Samosa.
店内にはこの他中東インドやパキスタン系のカレーの元、スパイス各種、便利なレトルトの料理の元などなどが沢山です。
インドネシアの料理の元各種はペースト状になっていて、具材と共に煮込むだけなので簡単。ちょっと試してみるのも面白いですよ。
Inside the store there are plenty of other sources such as Middle Eastern Indian and Pakistani curries, various spices, and convenient retort cuisine.
The original variety of Indonesian cuisine is in paste form and it is easy because it only cooks with ingredients. It is interesting to try a bit.
イスラム教徒の男性用帽子。金曜日の礼拝なんかでは必須なものです。
坂城町にイスラム教の寺院「モスク」があるので、そこでお祈りする外国人の方が多いです。
Muslim men’s hat. It is necessary for pray especially Friday worship.
There is a Muslim temple “Mosque” in Sakaki Town, so there are many foreigners who pray there.
店の中は異国情緒溢れてます。お買い物に来る方もほぼ異国の方々なので中々面白い。
日本人には入りづらい感もあるかもしれませんが、店主奥様は気さくな方なので日本語で話しかけてみて下さいませ。

Inside of the store is full of exoticism. People coming to shopping are also foreigners so much fun.
Although it may be hard for Japanese to enter, shopkeeper is a friendly person, so please try to speak in Japanese.
